These are four of the most helpful and utterly lovely people at onefinestay – your host relations team. You may remember meeting Laura, our Head of Host Relations, a while back. In case you’ve forgotten, she likes open green spaces, Earl Grey tea, and the view from halfway across Waterloo Bridge. Now you can meet Zoe, Fyona and Meredith too.

When did you join onefinestay?

I joined onefinestay in November 2011 as a member of the Take On team. I soon realised my favorite part of the job was host interaction and so when the opportunity arose I joined the Host Relations team.

Where do you live in London?

Highgate, I love it and have lived there my whole life bar a few years.

What is your favourite type of tea and why?

I’d rather have a gin.

What was the best experience you ever had on holiday?

I was in Cuba when Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. Very scary, I spent 16 hours in a loo because it was the only place I could find with no windows that risked being shattered in! When the hurricane had finally passed, 20,000 Cuban homes had been damaged or destroyed. I remember seeing a family essentially sweeping up their home. The grandpa of the family was on the guitar accompanying  them whilst they laughed and sang Guantanamera. Enlightening. At this point I thought if they’re happy and their home has fallen apart then I never have reason to moan again! This attitude lasted until the end of the holiday.

When did you join onefinestay?

Just last week!

Where do you live in London?

In a flat in Kentish Town with a lovely exposed brick fireplace and original hardwood floorboards. There’s a balcony if you’re prepared to climb out the kitchen window. It’s pretty dinky but I love it.

When did you last get lost?

Before I owned a smartphone I tried to escape London by cycling north.  After a couple of hours I decided to return home and started heading ‘south’.  Unfortunately my internal compass had failed me and, although I didn’t realise it immediately, I was really very lost.

What is your favourite spot in London which you wouldn’t find on a map?

The terrace at the Roundhouse – it has a great view of one of Gormley’s standing men which resides on the edge of the roof.

Fyona

Meet Fyona

Where do you live in London?

I live in Angel – I love the villagy vibe with so many great restaurants & bars on my doorstep. I have been known to spend whole weekends not going further then a few minutes from my house. I love my local ‘the Draper’s Arms’, they do amazing scotch eggs and jugs of pimms – best had over a game of backgammon.

Who would be the guest of honour at your dinner party?

Guest of honour would be Dylan Moran – I love his stand-up, he’s just so deliciously random.

Where do you wish you lived in London?

I like where I live at the moment but for a change of scene i’d love to move East – Shoreditch perhaps?
