Looking back at our favourite stories of 2016

It’s been a big year for us at onefinestay: we launched in two new cities this year – Rome and Miami, and became a part of the AccorHotels family. As the year draws to a close, we’re taking a look back at some of our favourite stories of 2016.

Exploring Rome with Emiko Davies

In Rome, Italy-based chef Emiko Davies helped us explore Rome and treated us to some of her amazing dishes (her maritozzi recipe is particularly yummy). Our favourite moment was getting together with Emiko and her friends to swap stories, share food and experience la dolce vita. When in Rome, eat as the Romans do – and when you’re at home too, for that matter, by following these five tips for an Italian-inspired dinner party.

Trends and tips from Hubert Zandberg

2016 also marked the arrival of our designer-at-large, Hubert Zandberg. Hubert shared his eagle-eye for interior design trends and tips – educating us on everything from hanging art in your home to sprucing up your shelves. We loved looking at his handiwork so much, we searched for examples of his style philosophies in our own splendid homes (take a look at our styled shelves and our most colourful and characterful homes).

Our favourite neighbourhoods

There’s nothing like discovering a new city – except perhaps rediscovering an old one. And while we made plenty of new friends and visited plenty of new places, we also took time out to stroll through some of our favourite neighbourhoods, including Notting Hill in London and Canal Saint-Martin in Paris.

It’s been a splendid year for onefinestay – watch this space for even more travel tips and design inspiration from onefinestay in 2017.
