We’re continuing to ride the wave of Instagrammers in our #LiveWellTravelWell series. This week we have Lily Rose, the wandering world traveller with a lust for adventure. Living by her mantra “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough”, Lily leaves no stone unturned in her quest to show off the world through her beautiful images.
What is truly impressive about Lily is the scope of her imagery. Whereas many Instagrammers and photographers focus on a particular subject, Lily’s ability to capture a variety of different images ranging from urban cityscapes to gorgeous food is a true display of her natural talent.
Given her experience travelling the world, we asked Lily to provide her best #LiveWellTravelWell tips:
1. Breakfast first.
Those who follow me on Instagram and Snapchat know how crazy I am about breakfast. I can’t start the day without having a (big) proper one. That’s what gives me the energy to go through a busy day of explorations.
2. Create some habits.
When I’m travelling to a new place, I love to create daily habits that get me into a routine. For example, going to the local bakery every morning to get a fresh load of bread. After a few days, the baker will be a familiar face and will make me feel at home.
3. Talk and smile to strangers.
I travel on my own a lot and through the years I’ve learned not to be shy anymore and to get out of my comfort zone. I cherish each moment I share with someone I’ve just met, even if we only speak for a couple of minutes. These are the moments that make travelling special and make me feel happy and comfortable wherever I am.
4. Meet with the locals.
I always meet with local Instagrammers wherever I travel. There’s no better way to experience a new place than with a local, and today Instagram make it so easy. Locals always have good advice and fill me in on hidden little gems too.
5. Travels essentials:
- My camera / phone /mophie
- A tiny pillow, especially for long travel. I like to be fully rested when I arrive at my destination for a busy day of exploring
- A comfortable pair of shoes.
