This week, onefinestay was thrilled to be a part of the LEGENDS celebration of design in the heart of LA’s La Cienega Design Quarter.
We hosted a keynote panel on the topic of ‘The Well-Travelled Home; Cultural Diversity in Private Spaces.’ Trendsetting onefinestay hosts Cortney Novogratz and Kathryn Ireland were selected as panellists, offering their unique insights into the topic. They were joined by designer Beth Webb and moderator Krissa Rossbund, senior design and style editor of Traditional Home.
LEGENDS brings together thousands of VIPs and tastemakers from the worlds of interior design, décor, art, fashion and architecture.
‘’There is nothing worse than walking into a grey room’’ said Kathryn. She illustrated how her iconic use of colour and pattern helps create a well-travelled home and remarked that sometimes if you want a truly unique piece, you have to make it yourself, or find somebody who can.
Beth discussed her many trips abroad and how ‘‘the art of looking with a global view is important in design.’’ She highlighted the importance of working with a designer in the modern age when there are so many options on the internet but a lack of cohesive vision.
Cortney spoke passionately about the importance of incorporating storytelling in design. She talked about travelling across all 50 states of the US, gaining inspiration from local artists and designers, and creating pieces which she used in her many projects.
