We’ve already given the Bubbledogs menu a good once over and we couldn’t help sneaking a peek at James Knappet’s new project. And with the restaurant now in full swing, we think it looks pretty fantastic too.
The restaurant at the back of the Bubbledogs on Charlotte St, simply named ‘Kitchen Table‘ takes up to 19 diners on a cleverly crafted tasting course menu created by James Knappet and his team. Along the journey, the head chef guides diners through the ingredients, cooking process and methodology behind the food whilst sat around the central kitchen space. Chefs will try their best throughout the meal to stop and chat to diners to explain the food in more detail.
Knappet is certainly from a well respected background, having worked as Marcus Wareing’s head chef at the Berkeley and in the illustrious two Michelin star Ledbury in Notting Hill.
The menu at Kitchen Table consists of 13 small tasting dishes, which change on a daily basis and are according to a common theme or taste, for example ‘Chicken’, ‘Cauliflower’ or ‘Duck’, ensuring no two dining experiences will be the same.
Above we see the plate for ‘Duck’.
Prices are £68 per head for the tasting menu, without wine pairing. A snip when compared to an equivalent experience at the Ledbury. Bravo James, bravo.
