Ladbroke Grove 2, the latest addition to our London portfolio, is calmness crystallized into the shape of a rather beautiful townhouse. Nestled in a corner of the city where birdsong abounds and daisies speckle the turf, this restful Notting Hill residence is the exception rather than the rule in zone one. Its intricate, Regency-style ceilings are teamed with modest white walls and original fireplaces, creating an effortless Nordic purity throughout. Add to this dove grey accents and a private patio, and we think we’ve found the perfect spot for some city recuperation.
In a somewhat heady contrast, one of our New York newcomers shouts a little more loudly than this understated London home. At 1st Street the bold and the bright scream from every corner, from the hot pink chaise longue to the purple and yellow kitchen. Quirky arrangements keep us guessing, and we particularly like the shelves of old medicine bottles that adorn the chimney breast in the living room and the modish light fixtures.
