The time has finally come. onefinestay has crossed the Atlantic, taking the unhotel to new shores. After months of trying not to blurt it out, we can proudly announce that we’ve opened our doors in New York City! And perhaps most importantly, our brand new Big Apple hosts have opened their doors too. So today, we’re pitching a New York pad against one from our hometown of London, as Warren Street goes head-to-head with Broadwick Street.

First of all, welcome to Tribeca. A neighbourhood of cobblestones and light-flooded 19th century buildings, as well as brigades of celebrity inhabitants, it is one of New York’s glitziest areas. And among its charming alleys you’ll find Warren Street – a home befittingly composed and charming in just the right proportions. You’ll notice a calming tone as soon as you enter the meditative living room, where modernist furniture meets tactile marble and wood. Textured stone creates a serene backdrop in the bathroom, and the master bedroom induces a Zen-like calm with its deep shades of grey and soft rugs.

But Warren Street might just have met its match in a thoroughly urban Soho (London’s Soho, that is) apartment.  Broadwick Street – ‘think gentleman’s club in the year 2050’ – boasts silvered furniture, industrial details and gorgeously battered leather over its two floors. Indeed, with tones of grey and a glistening marble bathroom, there are certain similarities between these two homes across the pond.

The first battle of New York vs London proves fruitless – we simply can’t pick a favourite. So it’s a good job we can have both.
