Our home of the week is but a stone’s throw away from the urban greenery of Hyde Park. Perfectly situated for a stroll round the Serpentine, or a visit to the Royal Albert Hall, Palace Gate 2 is a masterpiece of style and grace in one of the finest London locations. The building was designed by Wells Coates in the Le Corbusier tradition, with double height ceilings creating breathing space, and large windows turning the treetops into living sculptures.
The home, owned by an architect and interior designer, is filled with a carefully curated collection of objects of intrigue and wonder. Sweeping though the sitting room an elegant and flowing spiral staircase leads up to a master bedroom with and en suite bathroom.
The furniture’s a mix of the modern and the antique, and the result is both elegant and welcoming. This is an extraordinary home and the perfect place to sit back, relax and listen to the sound of London whispered through the trees.
