A new wave of coffee hysteria has hit London, with Londoner’s becoming increasingly savvy about where to get their next cup, which is why we have selected a handful of our favourite London coffee houses for that much needed caffeine fix.
Monmouth
Regarded by many as the holy-grail of coffee in central London, Monmouth by Borough market is certainly one of the best coffees in town.
Very strong, smooth and well crafted, the Monmouth coffee shop always draws a crowd, so expect to queue at the weekend. Monmouth also has a wide range of world coffees, which can be bought by the bag and taken home for your mid-week coffee fix.

Prufrock Coffee
Prufrock Coffee of Shoreditch and Leather Lane comes from a great breed of coffee enthusiast, having been established by 2009 world barista champion Gwilym Rhys Davies.
Known as a perfectionist of sorts, Gwilym and his team are known for extremely precise coffee ingredient measurements, timings and quality ingredients to bring you a great tasting coffee.

Espresso Room
The Espresso Room in Bloomsbury is small but perfectly formed shop, with a humble selection of great coffees (selecting their beans from the Square Mile roastery). Espresso Room is the brainchild of Ben Townsend, coffee enthusiast and one of the industry experts that developed the London City & Guilds VRQ Barista qualification.
For a limited time, the Espresso Room are also collaborating with the GF Smith design exhibition, so don’t forget to catch them at their mobile coffee bar.
Caravan
Last but not least is a firm onefinestay favourite, Caravan. Perched on the end of the trendy Exmouth Market, this sleek coffee shop and restaurant is one of the front runners of the Antipodean coffee movement in London – offering strong, distinct coffees crafted in their basement, in their specialist bean roasting machine.
