The posh fast food trend in London continues. This weekend, Londoners will be visiting these recently opened ones; Bubbledogs, The Chicken Shop and Dirty Burger.

Bubbledogs

Doors to “the champagne bar that does not serve caviar” opened just two days ago. No reservations of course (unless there are more than six of you). The buffalo dog deep fried with spicy buffalo sauce, blue cheese, pickled celery and celery seeds sounds serious. They’ve got an explanation as to why they’ve put champagne and hotdogs together on their website, something to do with Darwin and evolving. I like both champagne and hot dogs, and so I think it’s cool.

The Chicken Shop

Down the stairs of Kentish Town’s newly opened Pizza East (yawn) is the incredibly exciting Chicken Shop. The menu asks how hungry you are – whole, half or quarter chicken, then how spicy you like it (a bit like nandos) then you choose some sides, with only four to choose from. It’s as simple as that. I find lack of choice a good sign, and so I look forward to seeing how good a rotisserie-style chicken really can be. I also think the interiors look cool.

Dirty Burger

Soho House has gone crazy. Their planned takeover of Kentish Town continues with Dirty Burger. No booking and a cheeseburger is on sale for five and a half pounds. Sounds like the perfect fast food joint. Macdonalds watch out.
