4 easy ways to prepare a room for guests

At onefinestay, we’re in the business of helping people feel welcome in a new city – whether it’s arranging a babysitter or recommending somewhere for dinner. If you’re having guests to stay over the holidays, you’ll want to follow these tips to help them feel at home from the moment they arrive.1

1 Leave them a note and a little welcome gift. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive. If your visitors are from abroad, why not give them something locally made? We like to give our London guests some traditional English breakfast tea and biscuits.

2 You want the room your guest is staying in to have a bit of character, so liven up the bed with a couple of decorative cushions.

3 Make the beds with care. A little extra attention goes a long way. We make all our beds with ‘hospital corners’ – and you should too, it looks great and keeps the creases at bay.

If you’re setting your guests up in a room with an ensuite, make sure it’s well-stocked with fluffy towels and high-end toiletries (we love this set from Aesop).
